M&S Pure collection vegan skincare

Marks & Spencer adds 15 new vegan skincare products to its affordable Pure collection

27th January 2020 | Author: Victoria Woollaston-Webber

Fresh off the back of Aldi launching its first vegan skincare range, Marks & Spencer has added a host of new skincare products to its own line of ethical products, its 100% vegan and cruelty-free Pure collection.

M&S describes the Pure collection as “natural, ethical beauty you can trust” and says 95% of the ingredients used are derived from natural sources.

All products are free of artificial colours and fragrances, making them suitable for sensitive skin, and each product has been certified vegan and feature the leaping bunny logo, meaning they’re also certified as cruelty-free.

You can read more about these logos and what the difference between cruelty-free and vegan makeup is in our roundup of the best vegan makeup brands.

The new arrivals now take the total number of products in the M&S Pure collection to 18, listed below, and we’ve explained the products in more detail below.

The entire Pure collection of beauty products are on sale online at M&S.com, as well as in stores. Once we’ve had the chance to test each of these products, we’ll pick our favourites and let you know our verdict. However, on first impressions we’re most excited about using the following:

§ Pure Ultimate Cleanse Glycolic Toner

We’re huge fans of toner at mamabella. It’s an underrated product and one that is often skipped when it really shouldn’t be so we like the look of the M&S Pure Collection Ultimate Cleanse Glycolic Toner. It promises to firm, smooth and brighten the skin thanks to 5% citric and 4% glycolic acids which gently remove dead skin cells. This then makes your serums, moisturiser and oils more effective which, in turn, boost the application and appearance of makeup. After two weeks of use, M&S claims the skin feels toned and hydrated with an improved texture.

§ Natural Radiance Resurfacing Mask

This resurfacing mask exfoliates the skin, firms and revives it using echinacea and peptides and protects it from free radicals using the antioxidant resveratrol. It also promises to add extra moisture and leave your skin feeling plump thanks to starflower and blackcurrant seed oils. We tend to use a standard exfoliator in our skincare routine so we’re excited about seeing how these extra ingredients benefit our complexion.

§ Ultimate Cleanse Hot Cloth Cleanser

If you’ve ever flown long-haul and been given a warm towel as you land, you’ll know how refreshing and revitalising it can be. M&S’s Hot Cloth Cleanser is based on the same principles. The heat from the cloth opens the pores and refreshes the skin while the cleanser, full of natural oils, helps deep cleanse your face. M&S promises this product will smooth your skin and protecting its barrier function.
