Before we continue with the list, we should probably explain what the hell Galentine’s Day is because it’s a relatively new trend that seems to have become an established tradition.
Galentine’s Day is the name of an episode in series 2 of Parks and Recreation in which Leslie (played by Amy Poehler) throws a party for her female friends on 13 February – a celebration of women and singletons held the day before Valentine’s Day.
It’s not an anti-Valentine’s Day as such, it’s more a chance to tell the women in your life that you love them. Or show yourself some love and treat yourself!

Maison Francis Kurkdjian Swap real roses for the Maison Francis Kurkdjian À La Rose fragrance collection.
It’s not cheap, but each bottle contains no fewer than 400 roses – 250 Centifolia roses from Grasse, and 150 Damask roses from Bulgaria so is a luxurious purchase. The scent is a mix of honey sweetness and fresh pear and litchi and this perfume will last a lot longer than a bouquet of flowers will.
Francis Kurkdjian also sells a masculine take on the original, call L’Homme À La Rose. It’s fresher and less sweet than the feminine version but it’s still just as powerful.

Jo Malone Jo Malone doesn’t come cheap but its fragrances last for ages and the quality is great. If you can afford to splash out a little or if you’re looking to make a lasting impression, we recommend the Luxury Floral Mini Candles Duo (£50).
