The Boots No 7 Menopause skincare line has been designed to target the main skin concerns women experience in perimenopause and beyond
As if the hot flushes, bouts of depression and loss of libido experienced when women reach perimenopause weren’t enough, menopause does a real number on your skin.

A survey recently found that more than 70% of British women are worried about the negative impact of menopause on their skin, and many women who have gone through the change said they had no idea that the impact could be so broad.
In response to the increasing movement towards more openness and honesty about menopause, a number of brands have launched skincare lines specifically designed to tackle the signs of menopause that come about from a drop in oestrogen and collagen.

What:? The Boots No 7 Menopause skincare range has been formulated to target the main signs and skin symptoms that occur when the body goes through menopause, and oestrogen and collagen declines. It has been created in association with more than 7,000 menopausal women and is approved by dermatologists. It’s also suitable for sensitive skin because, even if you’ve never had sensitive skin before, menopause can increase sensitivity to certain ingredients.
Why:? On the No 7 Menopause skincare landing page, Boots says that, based on its own research, it found that women do not understand how the skin changes during perimenopause and menopause. Thus creating “a need for more education and information about the ingredients and products that can help visibly improve the skin during this life stage.” The launch is part of No7’s wider commitment to supporting female empowerment. The brand has previously partnered with Macmillan to offer beauty support to women affected by breast cancer and has a whole campaign devoted to discussing menopause called Menopause Monologues.

Boots The No7 Menopause Day Cream has been designed to soothe dry skin, which is one of the most common menopause symptoms.
This cream promises to hydrate the skin for 72 hours and contains glycerin, a hydrating ingredient found naturally in the skin; and niacinamide, to hydrate, brighten and balance the skin.
Elsewhere, it contains SPF30 with UVA/UVB protection.
You should be wearing SPF daily, regardless of skin type or age, but when you reach menopause your skin can be more susceptible to skin damage and pigmentation so having sunscreen in your day cream is a great way around this.
