In just a short time, we’ve seen a huge improvement in eyelash strength during our Olaplex Lash Bond review. When we brush our fingers through our lashes, we can now feel them when before we couldn’t, unless our finger was as close to the lash line as possible.
When looking face-on in the mirror, without mascara, we can make out lash hairs when before our eyes looked almost bald, and when we apply mascara the difference is almost staggering. So much so, it doesn’t even look like our eye! We can see small hairs sprouting at the lash line and the lashes at the edges are curling and fanning out like never before.
The difference has been so significant, we don’t feel the need to put on full false eyelashes when we go out anymore, and half lashes no longer look out of place. What’s more, we’ve not experienced any irritation from using the LashBond every day.
We should note that while you may assume any lash serum would create similar results, we’ve previously used the much cheaper Glow For It eyelash serum and didn’t see any improvement. Even after three months of use. We even bought an extra tube to make sure that we were giving the serum enough time to work in line with our eyelash cycle and we were left really disappointed.
The Olaplex LashBond serum results could not be further from this. We’ll be continuing to use the Olaplex lash serum for at least 10 weeks and we’ll update this page at each of the next stages of our Olaplex LashBond serum review. As a side note, we then plan to stop using it to see how well our new fuller, longer lashes last.

How does Olaplex Lash Bond work?
Following a series of online leaks, Olaplex recently released its first Olaplex lash serum called Olaplex LashBond Building Serum.
Given that Olaplex has become renowned for helping the hair on your head grow stronger and healthier, it makes sense the brand would venture into targeting the hair elsewhere on our bodies.
The brand describes the Lash Bond serum as an “eyelash enhancing serum” that promises to make lashes thicker, fuller, and longer with repeat use.
In our Olaplex LashBond serum review, we put these claims and the new Lash Bond serum to the test.

The LashBond serum is the first product from Olaplex that hasn’t been formulated specifically for use on the head. Yet it is entering a market that is becoming increasingly competitive.
The eyelash serum market is already dominated by a number of big brands, namely Revitalash and Rapidlash (you can see other options in our best eyelash serum guide), for instance. These brands have been recently joined by the likes of the Glow For It serum, and sit alongside existing serums such as UK bestseller, UKLASH, plus many more.
All of these serums largely promise the same thing – to help your lashes grow longer and stronger – and many share the same ingredients.
They’re also notoriously expensive for something that doesn’t guarantee results, or certainly not results that are immediate and instantly noticeable. This makes it difficult to know which is best.
Olaplex claims to offer something new and fresh. Its LashBond serum is the first to contain Olaplex’s patented ingredient – called Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate – which has been independently shown to help strengthen hair. It’s also hoping to trade off its reputation in the hair care market to become an eyelash serum leader, too.
For our Olaplex LashBond review, we applied the eyelash serum onto clean eyelashes twice a day – once as part of our morning skincare routine, and again before we went to bed.
We only applied a single brush of serum to each eyelash and applied it as the last step of our routine, to avoid accidentally washing or knocking it off.
We took photos at the start of the test, after three weeks, and will be taking a third photo after 10 weeks of use. This is so we can track the performance of the Lash Bond serum throughout the course of our natural eyelash growth cycle.
Although it differs from person to person, eyelashes typically grow, fall out and replace themselves once every six to 10 weeks. We’re going to be looking to see if our eyelash growth plateaus after a certain time or how long and full they look after a minimum of a single cycle.
It should be noted that the results in the image at the top of this page, and in our LashBond serum before and after section below are after just three weeks!
Olaplex claims its LashBond serum works so well because it contains a combination of “highly-effective” ingredients. These include:
In particular, there are three peptides in this lash serum that make up Olaplex’s Peptide Complex technology, as well as Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate which forms the basis of its bond-building technology.
A number of Olaplex patents explain that this ingredient works because the two ends of Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate form bonds with the sulfurs in the hair to create an “artificial disulfide bridge”.
This bridge is what makes the hair stronger and less likely to break or snap.
You can read more about this ingredient works in our K18 vs Olaplex guide but in summary, inside each strand of hair is something known as the cortex within which you’ll find chains of a protein called keratin.

These chains are interwoven and held together by the chemical equivalent of rungs and poles on a ladder, known as disulfide bonds, whose job is to connect two sulfur atoms together.
The stronger the connection between the bonds, the stronger the bond between the protein chains and thus the healthier the hair.
The Lash Bond serum also contains glycerin and panthenol – two other ingredients that hydrate the skin – as well as an antibacterial ingredient called Chlorphenesin. This fights off bacteria and fungus, which is especially important when using products around the eye.
When this formula is applied directly to the base of the eyelashes, the combination of skin-loving and hair-boosting ingredients come together to nourish and strengthen the eyelash follicles. These are the small pores from which hairs sprout.
In particular, the Lash Bond serum formula helps to support and repair the skin barrier at the lash line.
Over time, this helps to stimulate blood flow to the hair follicles, which makes the “anchors” within which the lashes are rooted to the eyelid stronger and more resilient. This in turn stops the lashes from falling out as regularly as they normally would and causes lashes to look fuller and last longer.
All of which help minimise breakage and fallout leading to stronger, thicker-looking lashes.

We have short, weak, and blonde lashes so without mascara, it looks like we don’t have any lashes at all.
As you can see in the screenshots (above) taken from our TikTok videos (below), our Lash Bond before and after photos show a stark improvement in our lashes – and these results are only after the initial three-week period.
@victoria_woolly_web I should add I haven’t even curled these lashes, the @collectioncosmetics mascara is THAT good. I tried the Glow For It lash serum for months and it did nothing so I was not hopeful about the @olaplex LashBond. In both images/videos, the mascara was applied straight to the lashes. We didn’t use a lash primer nor did we curl them. This was so we could get a fair and accurate representation of how the mascara, and thus our lashes, looked.
We’ve also taken a photo of the lashes from above to show how much thicker and fuller they look (below).

As we explain in our How we tested the Olaplex LashBond serum section above, we’ll be taking further photos at six weeks, and again at 10 weeks. This is to account for the natural growth cycle of eyelashes and to make sure our LashBond review is as accurate as possible.
