Sephora only launched in the UK last year and it was the first year its range of 2023 Sephora advent calendars was easily available to buy – and the brand didn’t disappoint.
It released three main advent calendars as well as a host of Christmas sets.
Two of last year’s calendars contained Sephora’s own brand of makeup and skincare while the Sephora Multi-Brand calendar featured popular brands including Huda Beauty, Medik8, Sol de Janeiro, and more.
The 2023 Sephora advent calendar is officially called the Sephora Favourites Advent Calendar and we’ve now been given a full look at what’s inside.

Is the Sephora Advent Calendar worth it?
The Sephora Advent Calendar is up there with the Space NK calendar (in our view). It’s fantastic value for money and you get an incredible range of products.
There are also a number of products and brands you won’t find in many other calendars, including Gwen Stefani’s GXVE, K18, Fenty Skin and Vegamour. These products on their own get close to the price of the Sephora calendar.
When you compare this to the Charlotte Tilbury Advent Calendar 2023, for example, it looks like an even better value. Charlotte’s calendar costs £29 less than Sephora’s calendar but you get 12 products versus 36. Plus, only two products in the Charlotte Tilbury calendar are full-size, versus 23 in the Sephora.
We still think the Space NK takes the edge but the Sephora is a slightly cheaper calendar that’s almost exactly on par with its rival.
Is the Sephora Advent Calendar worth it? Yes, definitely!

Sephora Collection Advent Calendars 2023
Last year, Sephora also sold two calendars full of its own-brand products. This year, only one has been announced so far. It’s currently on sale in the EU and we’re expecting/hoping that it comes to the UK with the Sephora Favourites calendar.

Sephora Advent Calendar contents: Deep Dive
Having a list of products is all well and good, but if they’re brands or items you’ve never heard of or used before, it can be hard to know if the Sephora advent calendar is really worth it. With that in mind, we’ve explained below what each product in this year’s calendar does and who it’s suited for, to help you decide just how many of the items you’ll use.

- Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Gel: This gel is designed to relieve muscle tension and stress. It smells of rosemary, black pepper, and ginger and is suitable for all skin types.
- Aromatherapy Associates Support Breathe Bath & Shower Oil: This bath and shower oil is formulated to help clear your airways and boost your immunity. It contains eucalyptus and peppermint, ideal for people with allergies or colds.
- First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub: This body scrub targets keratosis pilaris with 10% alpha hydroxy acids. Suitable for all skin types, it exfoliates dead skin cells to reveal smoother skin.
- Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Cream: This cult firming cream promises to tighten and smooth the skin. It contains guaraná extract and is suitable for all skin types but particularly anyone with cellulite or if you’re looking to help tone and smooth the skin.
- Molton Brown Orange & Bergamot Shower Gel: A shower gel that smells like orange and bergamot. Suitable for all skin types.
- Commodity Milk Expressive: This is a unisex fragrance that smells like vanilla and milk. If you like soft, subtle, and sweet scents this perfume will be great but it can be quite sickly so if you prefer fresh scents, you may not like this one.
- Floral Street Sweet Almond Blossom Eau de Parfum: A floral alternative to the Commodity Milk fragrance. This one smells like almond blossom and plums. Ideal for those who love sweet, floral scents.
- Juliette Has A Gun Not A Perfume: The third perfume in the Sephora Advent Calendar 2023 is more subtle than the other two and smells exclusively of Cetalox, which is an amber scent.
- NEOM Organics Sleep Candle: A lavender-infused candle designed to improve sleep quality. It’s great for anyone looking to create a calming bedtime or struggles dozing off.
- Philip Kingsley Elasti-Styler 5-in-1 Treatment: We’re big fans of this treatment, especially after swimming, because it conditions, styles, and protects from UV rays. Suitable for all hair types.
- VIRTUE Healing Oil: A lightweight hair oil that repairs and strengthens hair. Infused with Alpha Keratin 60ku, it’s suitable for damaged or dry hair.
- K18 Hair mask: This bioactive peptide treatment is designed to repair damaged hair. Suitable for all hair types, especially those with chemical or heat damage. We love this hair mask and you can read why in our K18 vs Olaplex guide.
- Living Proof Triple Bond Complex: A hair treatment that strengthens and repairs broken hair bonds, similar to Olaplex. Suitable for damaged or colour-treated hair.
- GXVE Beauty Lipstick: GXVE is Gwen Stefani’s makeup range this matte lipstick is said to be suitable for all skin tones. It’s vegan and cruelty-free too.
- Ilia Limitless Lash Mascara: A buildable mascara that lengthens and curls lashes. Suitable for sensitive eyes.
- ONE/SIZE Beauty On ‘Til Dawn Setting Spray: We’ve never heard of this brand so we’re excited to try the setting spray because it promises to keep makeup in place all day.
- Rare Beauty Perfect Strokes Matte Liquid Liner: We’re very big fans of Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty and this waterproof liquid eyeliner is great for precise application. Suitable for all skill levels.
- Rose Inc Satin Lip Color Lipstick: Another celebrity makeup product, this time from Rosie Huntington-Whitely’s Rose Inc. It’s a ” hydrating satin lipstick” that offers long-lasting colour. Said to be suitable for all skin tones.
- Vegamour GRO Volumizing Lash Serum: A lash serum designed to promote longer, thicker lashes. Suitable for people (like us!) with sparse or thin lashes. We’ve previously tried the Olaplex LashBond serum so it will be interesting to see how this one compares.
- NailsInc Nail Polish: A long-wearing nail polish available in various shades. Suitable for all nail types.
- Beautifect Beautifect Blender: A makeup sponge designed for foundation. This is another brand we haven’t heard of so we’ve keen to see how this blender competes with our fave from Chloe Cosmetics.
- Tarte Leave Your Mark Vii Eye & Cheek Palette: Tarte seems to have fallen off the radar a little recently but it consistently makes great products and this all-in-one eye and cheek palette has versatile shades and is suitable for most skin tones. It may not work for darker or deeper shades, though.
- BeautyPro Cica + Niacinamide Face Mask: A sheet mask that hydrates and brightens the skin with cica and niacinamide, it’s suitable for all skin types but is particularly good for anyone with sensitive, irritated, or ageing skin. This is because cica helps repair and hydrate, with antioxidants, while niacinamide helps brighten and balance.
- BeautyPro Warming Eye Mask: A self-heating eye mask designed to relieve eye strain. Suitable for anyone with tired eyes (so all Mums and Dads probably…!)
- Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm: One of the best cleansing balms we’ve tried. It “melts” makeup and impurities and is suitable for all skin types.
- Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops: Another cult product, this serum from K-Beauty brand Glow Recipe brightens the skin and contains watermelon extract and niacinamide. Suitable for all skin types. It didn’t perform amazingly well in our best serum tests, but a lot of people really love this product.
- Ranavat Restoring Moonseed Treatment: A facial treatment that rejuvenates and hydrates the skin. Suitable for mature or dry skin.
- Sarah Chapman Glow On the Go: Sarah Champman is a favourite of One Direction singer, Niall Horan and its Glow on the Go is a facial oil that hydrates and brightens the skin. Suitable for all skin types.
- Sunday Riley B3 Nice 10% Niacinamide Serum: This serum minimises the appearance of pores and balances oil production. Suitable for oily or combination skin.
- Tan-Luxe Super Glow Hyaluronic Self Tan Serum: A self-tanning serum that also hydrates the skin. Suitable for most lighter skin tones.
- Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment: An exfoliating treatment that removes dead skin cells. Suitable for most skin types but it’s probably worth giving it a miss if you have sensitive skin, or redness.
- REN Clean Skincare Radiance Dark Circle Eye Cream: An eye cream that helps get rid of dark circles and puffiness.
- Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial + Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil: A facial treatment set that exfoliates and hydrates. Suitable for all skin types although people with sensitive skin might want to avoid the exfoliating treatment just in case.
- Fenty Skin Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum: This toner-serum hybrid from Rihanna’s Fenty Skin currently sits at the top of our skincare group test spreadsheet and, as a result, sits at the top of our best serum and best toner guides. It helps with clogged pores and hydrates. Suitable for all skin types but is particularly good for oily skin.
- Medik8 Hydr8 B5 Intense: This hydrating serum is designed to lock in moisture and is best for dry and/or dehydrated skin.
- Malin+Goetz Vitamin E Moisturiser: This is a lightweight moisturiser that hydrates and nourishes thanks to the use of antioxidant Vitamin E, it’s suitable for all skin types.
