The Jo Malone advent calendar isn’t exactly in our remit – because it doesn’t feature makeup or skincare – but it falls very firmly in the lifestyle category and is most definitely a way to treat yourself, or a loved one.
Each year it contains a mix of candles, diffusers, fragrance oils, and more.
It doesn’t come cheap, because the brand is pricey (to say the least!) but it’s a surprisingly cost-effective way to get hold of months and months’ worth of smellies.
On 25 September, the 2023 Jo Malone advent calendar went on sale via Early Access and it goes on general sale from 29 September.

Jo Malone As one of the most expensive luxury advent calendars of the year, you need to be a bit Jo Malone fan or have cash to spare to get the most value out of the Jo Malone advent calendar.
On the plus side, if you were to buy all the products in the calendar separately you’d have to pay more than £1,000 so, at £350, the Jo Malone calendar is a bargain. Relatively speaking of course!
Another positive is that if you’ve wanted to try different Jo Malone fragrances in the past but didn’t want to take the gamble, the Jo Malone calendar usually contains a wide mix of scents. This allows you to find your new favourite.
Sadly, our favourite – Green Tomato – doesn’t tend to get a look in but we’re also big fans of Peony Blush and English Pear and Freesia.
On the downside, the majority of products in the Jo Malone advent calendar are minis and travel-size which can be a little galling when you’ve spent this much money. It’s also very expensive which will put it out of reach of many people.

There is an increasing number of searches being made about a Jo Malone advent calendar scam. We haven’t found any concrete evidence about a Jo Malone advent calendar scam doing the round so we can only assume that the word “scam” is meant in the sense of the calendar being a rip-off. As in, it’s really expensive for what’s inside.
While we wouldn’t go anywhere near as far as calling it a scam, as you can read in our “Is the Jo Malone Advent Calendar worth it?” section above, we were incredibly disappointed to have paid so much for so many minis.
It’s unfair to say it’s a rip-off though because Jo Malone is very honest in its marketing about the sizes, so we knew what we were buying. As a result, the disappointment is on us!
Jo Malone There isn’t a Jo Malone Advent Calendar aimed specifically at men, mainly because most of the scents in the original calendar are unisex. However, in lieu of a men’s calendar, Jo Malone has launched the “Mr Malone” gift set as part of its Christmas collection.
It’s full of colognes, creams, and shower gels from across Jo Malone’s Lime Basil, Wood Sage, and more collections.

Jo Loves What is it? Jo Loves is a separate brand from Jo Malone herself. Malone sold her main brand to Estee Lauder in 1999 and left the company in 2006. Jo Loves is her second business that builds on her knowledge and experience at Jo Malone to create a fragrance brand that, while still pricey, is cheaper than her first endeavour.
